Job Title: Slip Ring Design Engineer Reporting To: Manager, Slip Ring Engineering Work Schedule: Onsite – Blacksburg, VA Slip Ring Design Engineer Moog Inc. Our team in Space & Defense is looking for a Slip Ring Design Engineer to join them. You will report to the Slip Rings Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical, electrical, or aeronautical engineering discipline
  • Experience using mechanical design/packaging, electrical, and analytical skills
  • Experience using CAD/CAE (UG NX is desirable)
  • Knowledge of machine/manufacturing capabilities and drafting standards

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years experience in the design and analysis of precision rotating electromechanical equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish concepts and requirements as needed to successfully conduct and support the design efforts in a variety of engineering disciplines including mechanical, thermal, and electrical design and analysis in the development of high reliability slip ring assemblies.
  • Understand and interpret customer specifications and requirements and to be the primary interface with suppliers and/or customers for all technical aspects of a project.
  • Work within a team including designers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers and technical writers.
  • Serve as the primary contributor to carry designs from inception in the bids and proposal phase through detailed design development and analysis to creation of production drawings and documentation and then continue to provide support as the slip ring product moves into production build and test.
