About The Position

Using FAA-approved data, can learn to pretest, disassemble, repair/overhaul, assemble, and final test aircraft components, including but not limited to Slides, Rafts, Oxygen Cylinders/tanks, Oxygen Masks, and similar components. Reports to the Shop Lead Technician or Shop Manager. Considered trainable in his or her position. Some supervision is expected. Must be willing to learn new skills to advance within the company. Must be willing to follow company policies and procedures. Ability to routinely lift and manipulate heavy objects. Keep a clean work area. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Technical college or Military training is a plus.
• Understand, read, and write English, and have knowledge of basic math.
• Must be able to follow written instructions using schematic diagrams, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Airline EO’s, and other FAA-approved technical documents.
• Ability to learn the use of basic test equipment, including but not limited to Pressure Gauges, Hydrostatic Testers, Micrometers, Dial Indicators, Torque Wrenches, Calipers, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Must be adaptive and willing to engage new concepts, processes, and technical capabilities.
• Dexterity with hand tools.
• Must be mindful and proactive regarding safety procedures.
