About The Position

The position requires the ability to start-up and runs the Weber Slicer in the sliced meats department. The operator must be able to lift logs of meat weighing 35 lbs. The operator is responsible for the quality of the product and the accuracy of the weights of the slices produced. The operator is also responsible for cleaning the machinery during the shift.

Requirements

  • 3 months of work history with same employer.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends and be willing to accommodate shift start time changes.
  • Must be willing and able to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be willing and able to repeatedly push, pull, lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • The Team Member will work in wet, humid, cold, and hot environments.
  • The Team Member will work in a refrigerated area with ambient temperature of 40 degrees.
  • The Team Member will walk or stand for 8-12 hours per day on hard floors.
  • The Team Member will work in an environment with the sight and smell of meat products or any other product present when processing meat such as blood, fat, bone, spices.

Responsibilities

  • Performs job assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
  • Sanitize the slicer before start-up.
  • Adjustment of the slicer/ checking for loose belts on machine.
  • Frequently check the quality of the product (weight and product item counts).
  • Cleaning of slicer throughout the shift.
  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of products to standards.
  • Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product.
  • Regulate machine flow, speed, temperatures and weights to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
  • Performs minor preventive maintenance as instructed by supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to read and understand manuals, blueprints, plant paperwork, labels, etc.
