The Supervisor, Sleep Lab oversees the daily operations of the Sleep Lab, ensuring efficient workflow, compliance with accreditation standards, and the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role manages sleep lab staff, schedules, and resources while supporting quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. The Supervisor collaborates with the Sleep Lab Director, Medical Director, and other team members to maintain the lab's operational excellence and accreditation requirements. The Supervisor may perform clinical duties, including conducting and scoring sleep studies, as needed.

  • Supervises the daily operations of the Sleep Lab, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation, to ensure smooth and efficient services.
  • Oversees sleep lab staff functions, including interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling time off.
  • Conducts quality assurance and performance improvement activities, ensuring compliance with AASM and Joint Commission accreditation standards.
  • Maintains and updates lab policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors and evaluates the quality of sleep studies, providing feedback and training to staff to meet lab standards.
  • Tracks and ensures staff completion of required annual competencies and continuing education in accordance with AASM standards.
  • Manages payroll processes, including inputting hours, adjusting schedules, and maintaining productivity percentages in systems such as Kronos.
  • Coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs, reporting issues to IT and biomedical engineering teams as needed.
  • Orders medical and technical supplies, initiates purchase requisitions, and monitors expenses to stay within budgetary expectations.
  • Provides direct clinical support, including conducting and scoring sleep studies and assisting overnight staff, as needed.
  • Collaborates with the Sleep Lab Director, Medical Director, and other clinicians to support patient care and operational goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Associate Degree or higher preferred
  • 1-2 years of related experience in the profession required
  • 1-2 years of previous leadership experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with others, delegate responsibilities, and independently manage tasks while meeting established deadlines.

  • In depth knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory compliance (if applicable).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Google and Microsoft platforms, healthcare software systems, and data analysis tools.
  • Health Services\RPSGT - Registered Polysomnographer Technologist required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required
