Get to Know Your Team: Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.

  • A Polysomnographic Technologist - works under the general supervision of the clinical director (M.D., D.O., or PhD) or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.
  • This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education.
  • Compile and file patient information, give information to callers, schedule appointments, and provide routine clerical support.
  • Assist in other areas of the Sleep Lab Department as deemed necessary.
  • Interact with physicians' offices and other Hillcrest departments.
  • Work with the Sleep Clinic office to coordinate scheduling needs for our patients.
  • The position verifies insurance, obtains all authorizations, registers and does financial counseling with the Sleep disorder patients..
  • Will participate in performance initiatives.
  • Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day to day operation of the dept.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS certification within 14 days of hire
  • If the incumbent is hired without credentials, must either:
  • Elect Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists within 6 months of hire date, and then become registered by same body within one year of certification, or
  • Become registered/credentialed by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists within 12 months of employment. Failure to obtain registration will lead to termination.
  • 1-3 years of expeirence in the performance of sleep studies
  • Proficiency with CPAP and BiPap machines.
  • Capable of properly fitting patients for masks.
  • Knowledgeable of Oxygen safety.
  • Must be knowledgeable of current testing guidelines.
