About The Position

Join us to start Caring. Connecting. Growing together. Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under direction of Provider or designee. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. We are currently offering a schedule working Thursday-Saturday, 12-hour shifts that are 7:00 pm – 7:00 am.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent.
  • Maintain current CPR or BCLS certification.
  • Ability to communicate medical information to non-medically trained people.
  • Ability to neatly, efficiently, and effectively write routine reports, correspondence, and chart notes.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree with an emphasis in Polysomnography or an accredited Polysomnography Program.
  • 6+ months of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs.
  • Complete and verify documentation.
  • Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient.
  • Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary.
  • Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
  • Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make adjustments if necessary.
  • Perform positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.
  • Follow procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data.
  • Perform Polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality.
  • Document routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events.
  • Implement appropriate interventions for patient safety and therapeutic intervention.
  • Follow 'lights on' procedures to verify integrity of collected data.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care.
  • Oversee and perform difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions.
  • Score sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines.
  • Score clinical events according to center specific protocols.
  • Generate accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.
  • Perform routine and complex equipment care and maintenance.
  • Evaluate sleep study related equipment and inventory.
  • Respond to study participant’s procedural-related inquiries.
  • Comply with the BRPT Standards of Conduct.
  • Demonstrate and exemplify behavior consistent with DaVita’s core values.
  • Perform all other job duties as directed by the supervisor or manager.
