About The Position

Skype Specialist: On-Premises Skype for Business Operations Engineer Provides day-to-day operational support for an on-premises Microsoft Skype for Business environment. This role is responsible for daily administration, break-fix operations, monitoring, and sustaining activities to ensure platform availability, performance, and reliability in a highly secure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily operational management of on-premises Skype for Business infrastructure, including Front End pools, Edge services, mediation servers, and voice components.
  • Execute break-fix troubleshooting for Skype for Business incidents, service interruptions, call quality issues, and user connectivity problems.
  • Monitor platform health, service availability, and performance using approved monitoring tools.
  • Support voice, conferencing, presence, and IM services, including PSTN integration where applicable.
  • Manage routine administrative tasks such as patching, certificate lifecycle management, service restarts, and configuration maintenance.
  • Support incident response, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work closely with Unified delivery leadership and customer operations teams to maintain continuity of service.
  • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure all operational activities align with supported Microsoft Skype for Business configurations and best practices.
  • Support security, compliance, and operational requirements associated with highly cleared environments.
