About The Position

We are seeking a Skills Trainer who works directly with individuals facing barriers to employment by providing hands-on instruction, coaching, and guidance in specific worksite duties and general workplace habits. This role focuses on helping individuals learn, practice, and master job tasks while building workplace readiness, independence, and the skills needed for successful competitive employment. Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Workforce Development, Education, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in career coaching, case management, workforce development, or employment services preferred
  • Two years of work experience in human services field, with disability or employment services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized, hands-on training to individuals to learn specific job duties and work-related tasks.
  • Support individuals in developing strong work habits—such as punctuality, task completion, and adherence to workplace procedures—while assisting them in learning job tasks, building workplace skills, and understanding employer expectations.
  • Assist individuals in building soft skills including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving
  • Reinforce workplace safety practices and proper use of tools and equipment
  • Monitor progress and adjust training strategies based on individual learning styles and needs
  • Collaborate with Job Coaches, Career Navigators, employers, and support teams to support successful employment outcomes
  • Document training activities, progress, and outcomes in accordance with agency and funding requirements
  • Collect, interpret, and document behavioral data and monitor job candidates’ progress toward supported, competitive employment.
  • Report outcomes for weekly report.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
