Our Young Adult Program is a voluntary residential program for individuals struggling with significant mental health diagnoses as they transition toward independent living. The program aims to help young adults understand and manage their mental health needs with the help of community supports and on-site treatment services. This initiative is designed to assist transitional age youth who are living with mental health challenges to function successfully in the community and reduce the likelihood of homelessness or dependency on the system for everyday needs.

  • Understand and work effectively with young adults and a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Implement systematic, orderly, and empirical problem-solving and goal achievement strategies.
  • Comprehend adolescent and young adult treatment principles, models, concepts, and theories.
  • Conceptualize, organize, implement, monitor, and evaluate complex projects involving multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Dedicate to a treatment approach that addresses the needs of youth in the context of family and community systems.
  • Meet productivity standards as assigned by the YAP Manager.
  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or a related field or QMHA equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Two (2) full years' experience as a direct care worker with at-risk youth or young adults in a treatment setting preferred.
