Your role as a Mental Health Technician/Skills Trainer in Community/School Based Services involves building rapport with clients (children and adolescents), providing daily support, structure, activities, group, and safety. You will provide skills training to clients to help them learn to manage their mental health symptoms in their homes, model and coach clients regarding appropriate hygiene, and social and interpersonal interactions. You will also need to have a valid Oregon driver's license that meets agency driving requirements and the ability to meet clients and families in the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral sciences field; or a combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training or experience.
  • Demonstrate the competency necessary to communicate effectively.
  • Understand mental health assessment, treatment and service terminology and apply these concepts.
  • Provide psychosocial skills development.
  • Implement interventions as assigned on an individual plan of care.
  • Provide behavior management and case management duties.
