About The Position

Provides 1:1 instruction to program participants. Instructional sessions will be conducted at local libraries, community-based organizations, or in the home. The program is tailored to address needs and interests of the program participants. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Staff will serve as a link between school/community and the individual to assist the individual to make academic gains, improve the individual’s quality of life through skill development within various academic areas through 1:1 instruction. Staff will work with individuals in identifying needs or gaps in executive functioning skills which are inhibiting success at school and or in the community (planning, task initiation, time management, organization, self-management etc.) The staff will provide additional support to help the individual follow through on educational/social/emotional goals to improve overall knowledge and quality of life for the individual. Must maintain work with at least two individuals. Must maintain caseload upon hire/changes to caseload must be approved by supervisor. May be required to drive to any location in Erie or Niagara County. Ensure program integrity by implementing program as specified. Complete and return all required paperwork in a timely fashion on an electronic health record. Attend scheduled staff meetings to further enhance instructional sessions. Maintain good communication with supervisor (notify director of any challenges, questions, or situations that affect the skill development process). Complies with all agency policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Education or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior tutoring/teaching experience preferred
