About The Position

The Skilled Trades Supervisor plans, schedules, assigns, directs and supervises the work performed by bargaining unit staff. Responsible for overall supervision of maintenance, installation and repair work on: electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration equipment, systems and components. Responsible for coordination of troubleshooting, repair and installation work with Engineering Operations and Planning. Assures work quality and progress in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, SOM standards, and local, state and federal codes. This work is performed under limited supervision and using the tools and techniques of engineering technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of formal training in one of a state-approved Journey Plumber, Journey Mechanic, Millwright Machinist, Electrical, HVACR program at a vocational or technical school, college, or apprenticeship sponsor organization; or, requires a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Demonstrates the annual accomplishment of trade-specific continuing education.
  • Authorization to Work in the United States: Applicants who require sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered for this position.
