About The Position

Nexteer Automotive Saginaw, Michigan Operations is soliciting candidates for the Industrial Machine Repair position. This role is critical in ensuring the operational efficiency of our industrial machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong safety orientation and be a self-starting, team-oriented individual with excellent technical and interpersonal skills. The position may also involve coaching and mentoring fellow employees, contributing to a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

• Must be a safety-oriented individual
• Self-starting and team-oriented with good technical and people skills
• Willingness to coach/mentor fellow employees
• Journeyman's card or completion of a Department of Labor - Certified Program
• Minimum of 6 years experience as an Industrial Machine Repairer or 4 years relative experience
• Ability to participate in additional classroom training if required

• Experience working on assembly lines
• Experience with machining cells
• Experience with stamping presses
• Experience with plastic injection
• Experience with grinding machines
• Experience with CNC machines

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems on industrial equipment
• Read and understand prints for hydraulic systems/circuits, including chemical/oil/water based fluids
• Perform piping, thread pipe, tubing, and steam fitting work
• Conduct fixture and mechanical repairs on industrial equipment
• Execute spindle repair and lube system repairs
• Operate tool room type equipment (lathe, mill, saw, drill press, etc.)
• Use an oxygen/acetylene torch
• Operate fork trucks
• Install ballscrews into machines
• Indicate spindles/chucks/shafts/linear bearings
• Install bearings and perform bearing installation
• Rig using chains, slings, and chokers from mobile cranes and overhead cranes
• Work on assembly lines, machining cells, stamping presses, plastic injection, grinding machines, CNC machines, etc.
