Primary Purpose: Assist plumbers with repairs and all work orders assigned to the plumbing department. Maintain a clean and safe environment. Qualification Guidelines: Education/Certifications: High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas driver's license Experience: Prior experience as apprentice helper is desirable Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to use hand and power tools Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Physically fit with good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination and sense of balance Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds Good human relations skills and ability to work with others Learn/progress toward journeyman classification Learn/progress skills necessary to use mini jetter, camera locator and electrical auger Supervisory Responsibilities: None Mental/Physical/Environmental Demands: Tools/Equipment Used: Hand and powertools, sewerrooter, torch, ladder and lighttruck or van. Posture/Motion/Lifting: Continuouswalking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, carrying and heavy lifting. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside Environment: Exposure to extreme temperatures, frequent district-wide travel, work indoors and outdoorsto conduct on-site inspection ofall facilities and construction projects; work around machinery with moving parts; work on ladders or scaffolding Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; communicate effectively and professionally at all times
