About The Position

The reporting location of this position is the Restoration Headquarters located in Ishxenta State Park, Carmel, CA. This position will be supervised by the Senior Park and Recreation Specialist and will work closely and under general direction from the State Historian III and the Restoration Work Specialist assisting with work on historic structure projects throughout the District. The incumbent will be responsible for performing general manual labor including brush clearance, digging, loading/unloading, cleaning, rough repair work on structures, cleaning, painting, and other taks to support the Restoration Work Specialist. Normal working hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM; 8 days on, 6 days off. This position is not eligible for telework. Training and Development Assignments may be considered. This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment. Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver's license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver's license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application. Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962.
