Summary: The Skilled Laborer Civil is responsible for performing construction maintenance tasks of a skilled nature: finishing concrete, laying bricks and blocks, and operating vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have 2+years of experience working in heavy highway construction
  • Complete understanding of OSHA and company safety requirements
  • Ability to measure accurately and read specifications
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of the materials and equipment used in general street maintenance and construction work
  • Knowledge of the methods and practices of pouring and finishing concrete
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Clean driving record is a plus
  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 preferred
  • Flagger License desired

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled and semi-skilled manual labor on civil construction projects
  • Assist with roadway, utility, drainage, excavation, grading, and concrete operations
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and efficiently
  • Support heavy equipment operators and skilled trades as directed
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment
  • Set up, maintain, and break down work zones and traffic control devices as required
  • Perform basic concrete work including forming, pouring, and finishing support
  • Follow project plans, specifications, and supervisor instructions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Additional duties as assigned
