About The Position

We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. Rogers Group, Inc. is looking for SKILLED CONCRETE FINISHER to join our Eastern Middle TN concrete team based out of Cookeville, TN. Requirements

  • Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration requirement.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Set and check the forms to ensure they are properly constructed for concrete placement and finishing
  • Understand and performs the finish of all concrete
  • Place, spread, level, consolidate, and smooth concrete, using concrete pump, bucket, rake, vibrator, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float
  • Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
  • Understand and performs all patching and repair
  • Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools
  • Prepare existing surfaces to accept repair materials
  • Apply curing, hardening, and sealing compounds and materials to the surface of concrete
  • Assist with the overall site safety and quality programs as required and ensuring Trade employees/subcontractors compliance with Rogers Group standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
  • Display a high level of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
