About The Position

This SkillBridge training program is designed to transition a United States Air Force Captain with extensive acquisition and program management experience into a technical program management and business development role within TekSynap. The program provides structured, hands-on training aligned to real-world mission delivery, solutions development, and capture activities across the federal contracting environment. Requirements

Must be active duty service member within their last 6 months of service
United States Air Force Captain with extensive acquisition and program management experience
Legal Right to Work in the United States
Comply with any vaccination requirements mandated by contract, applicable law or regulation

Responsibilities

Participate in a structured internship designed to bridge the gap between Department of the Air Force (DAF) acquisition processes and private sector program management
Translate government acquisition requirements into technical execution plans
Support and manage technical programs and operational delivery environments
Develop solutions aligned to customer requirements, including infrastructure and networking systems
Analyze and respond to RFIs/RFPs from an industry perspective
Apply government acquisition knowledge to improve industry capture strategies
Support business development activities including pipeline management and customer engagement
Communicate technical and business solutions through briefings, reports, and proposals
Observe the solutioning lifecycle, gaining insight into how commercial "Try, Decide, Buy" models are architected for diverse customer needs
Focus on Theater Deployable Communications (TDC) execution, technical project management, and exposure to infrastructure and BIM workflows under the guidance of Bill Nystrom
Participate in TDC program execution and planning activities
Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
Track risks, issues, and mitigation strategies
Support BIM coordination and infrastructure planning
Participate in technical meetings and operational reviews
Gain exposure to ACC Raptortown if active during training period
Deliver weekly program status reports
Deliver project schedule updates (IMS)
Deliver risk and issue tracking log
Deliver technical program brief
Deliver BIM workflow summary
Work with Mark Sikorski and Julie G on RFI/RFP analysis
Develop technical approaches and proposal content
Learn how industry dissects RFIs/RFPs
Provide insight into government RFI development practices
Work with Leonard Newman (CTO) to review enterprise architecture and integration
Understand hybrid and cloud integration within mission systems
Map technologies to DoD and enterprise requirements (e.g., Enterprise WiFi at scale in VA environments, Dell 5G ORAN solution analysis)
Deliver RFI/RFP analysis report
Deliver technical solution narrative
Deliver proposal contribution
Deliver architecture overview summary
Deliver WiFi architecture brief
Deliver 5G ORAN solution brief
Study the strategic business development lifecycle under executive mentorship, focusing on market analysis and long-term capture strategies
Develop and manage opportunity pipeline tracker
Conduct opportunity analysis and qualification
Support capture planning and strategy
Prepare for and participate in VA WiFi customer engagement
Document customer interactions and follow-on actions
Deliver capture plan
