About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated SkillBridge Intern with a background in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to join our team. This internship program, designed for transitioning service members, offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, applying military skills and leadership abilities in a civilian work environment. THIS REQUISITION IS FOR ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS ONLY SimVentions DoD SkillBridge Internship Program Exploring the Benefits of the DOD SkillBridge Program The Department of Defense SkillBridge program is an exceptional opportunity for service members to develop valuable civilian work experience via industry-specific training, apprenticeships, or internships. This program connects transitioning service members with industry partners for genuine job experiences during the last 180 days of service. This program is a win-win for both service members and industry partners. Service members gain the opportunity to work in civilian career fields, while industry partners have access to the world's most highly trained and motivated workforce at no cost. During the program, service members will continue to receive their military compensation and benefits, while industry partners provide the civilian training and work experience. Assist Your Members Transitioning from Active Duty with DOD SkillBridge As an installation or unit commander with service members preparing to transition from active duty, it's essential to bridge the gap between their military and civilian careers. By allowing SkillBridge participation with reputable employers, commanders can help ease the military-to-civilian transition period for their members. Permissive Duty for Service Members with Industry Partners Service members can receive up to 180 days of permissive duty, with written authorization from their chain of command, to focus exclusively on training with approved industry partners. These industry partners provide practical training and valuable work experience, as well as assess the service member's potential for future employment.

Requirements

  • Currently serving as an Active Duty military service member and eligible for the SkillBridge program.
  • Active security clearance is required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and apply military experiences to a civilian career path in the fields of Technology and Innovation, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Modeling and Simulation, and Cybersecurity

Nice To Haves

  • STEM degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily operations and support cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to the completion of projects, including research, analysis, and reporting.
  • Participate in team meetings, offering input and suggestions based on your background and expertise.
  • Gain experience in specific technologies, tools, or processes relevant to the role.
  • Build and enhance professional skills in areas such as communication, leadership, and problem-solving.
