Purpose At Bowman Consulting Group, we deliver innovative engineering and consulting solutions to improve the built environment and strengthen the communities we serve. We are proud to partner with the Department of Defense through the Skill Bridge Program, offering transitioning service members meaningful opportunities to gain hands-on-experience in the civilian workforce. The purpose of the Water/Wastewater Skill Bridge Fellowship is to assist in drafting, design reviews, and preparation of project documents related to water, wastewater, and water resources infrastructure projects. Fellows will gain hands-on experience supporting project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of systems that improve community water management and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Active-duty service member, approved for DoD Skill Bridge participation.
  • Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) or equivalent military training/experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes.
  • Seek feedback and guidance to ensure consistent growth and quality results.
  • Collaborate with peers and multiple departments across the organization to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Participate fully in Skill Bridge learning and development activities designed to enhance technical, professional, and leadership competencies.
  • Uphold company standards and values in all interactions with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
  • Assist project teams with a variety of tasks related to the Fellow’s assigned department or discipline.
  • Apply problem-solving skills and initiative to support project goals and deliverables.
  • Conduct research, prepare reports or documentation, and contribute to team meetings and planning efforts.
  • Take ownership of learning new systems, processes, and tools necessary for success in the civilian workplace.
