About The Position

The Electronics Test Technician, III position at RTX involves performing tests to assess conformance with engineering specifications. The technician will set up testing apparatus and conduct quality assurance/control tests of raw materials, parts, components, finished items, packaging, equipment, and systems. The role includes final testing on sub-assemblies or completed units to ensure proper functioning of electrical, mechanical, and chemical performance. The scope of work may include strength testing, thermal testing, pyrometry, and metallurgic testing. This position is part of the SkillBridge Fellowship program, which provides transitioning service members with an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense business.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a HS Diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Electronics and/or certification in Electronics.
  • Experience with component level troubleshooting.
  • Experience in aerospace industry.
  • Experience with thermal tables, vibrational tables, and test rigs.
  • Experience with electronics repair.

Responsibilities

  • Testing a variety of electronic units using prescribed test procedures.
  • Configuring, interpreting, recording, or setting up and operating various test stands.
  • Utilizing tools to test and troubleshoot electronic units to the sub-assembly and component level.
  • Reading and interpreting technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics.
  • Communicating work status to team members and support staff.
  • Utilizing theory of electronic circuitry and electrical components.
  • Writing in a clear and concise technical manner.
  • Performing proper loading and unloading of electronic equipment in test beds.
  • Compiling with applicable elements of quality systems and participating in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Acquiring applicable skill/knowledge/certification as required.
  • Compiling with safety and hazardous waste disposal programs.
  • Utilizing computer tools such as SAP and accurately following work instructions.
