About The Position
Skid Builder at Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is a crucial role within our pallet manufacturing facility. The primary responsibility of this position is to operate all tools and equipment safely while meeting the demands of pallet production. The Skid Builder will be expected to sort and stack pallets according to departmental requirements, ensuring that the work area is kept clean during and at the end of each shift. This role involves cutting and stacking boards to the proper length, utilizing the metric system and tape measure effectively. The Skid Builder must demonstrate the ability to operate a Pneumatic Nail Gun, Forklift, and various hand tools safely. A key physical requirement of this position is the ability to routinely lift up to 30 pounds. Additionally, the Skid Builder must be able to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions accurately. This position is ideal for individuals who are looking to start their career in manufacturing, as it is an entry-level role that offers opportunities for growth and development within the company. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have at least one year of experience in wood manufacturing processes. Familiarity with various wood building concepts, practices, and procedures is essential. The Skid Builder must also be willing to work overtime as needed and maintain a safe working environment conducive to productivity.
