About The Position

The Ski & Ride School Special Program Supervisor works with the Ski & Ride School management team to provide high quality ski and snowboard experiences for a variety of Special Program participants with safety, fun, and learning as the top priority. This role involves managing time effectively to meet the demands of customers and employees, planning and executing daily activities to meet sales volume and staffing requirements of multi-week programs, and coordinating with other departments to ensure peak performance area wide. The supervisor determines required staffing levels and qualifications, monitors attendance, communicates assignments and expectations to employees, and monitors performance to ensure execution. They also ensure compliance with Loveland Ski Area and Ski & Ride School department policies and procedures and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of experience working in a PSIA/AASI Member School.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • PSIA/AASI Level 1 Certification minimum (or attained within 2 seasons), PSIA/AASI Level 2 preferred.
  • Maintain People, Teaching, and Technical skills to demonstrate current PSIA/AASI National Standards.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate, demonstrate, and explain concepts clearly to people of all ages.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • English required; additional language(s) are a plus.
  • Must be patient and nurturing to students and team members.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs and perform physically demanding skills.
  • Must be able to ski and/or ride at a technical level adequate for the performance of the job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with supervisory peers to ensure balanced instructor staffing levels to meet program needs and financial goals.
  • Assess seasonal customer reservation levels and staffing assignments.
  • Maintain close communication with instructors to facilitate accurate information on meeting times, locations, job duties, and procedures.
  • Provide instructor training and guidance in content introduction, feedback, practice time, and wrap up.
  • Support team members with student issues to meet customer needs.
  • Assist in instructor training in specific procedures and maneuvers.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to instructors, including end of season evaluations.
  • Recruit, screen, onboard, and train instructors.
  • Act as the point person on Direct Report and incident forms, and liaise with parents/clients.
  • Oversee support roles to maintain cleanliness of facilities and assist in various operational duties.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
