About The Position

Ski Patrollers at Cooper Spur are trusted leaders on the mountain, dedicated to protecting guests, teammates, and terrain while delivering an exceptional alpine experience. This role combines expert-level skiing with emergency response, hazard mitigation, and proactive risk management in a dynamic, high-alpine environment. From opening terrain each morning to closing the mountain at day’s end, Patrollers play a critical role in ensuring safe operations across all conditions. As a Ski Patroller, you’ll be part of a highly skilled, mission-driven team responsible for avalanche mitigation, emergency medical response, search and rescue, and guest education. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in challenging outdoor settings, remain calm under pressure, and are motivated by teamwork, service, and stewardship of the mountain. This is a Full Time, Year-Round Position

Requirements

  • Expert skier in all terrain and in all snow conditions. Pass Mt Hood Meadows Ski Patrol ski test Snowboarders not accepted
  • Able to work in adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Minimum of Outdoor Emergency Care, Wilderness First Responder or EMT required
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Positive mental attitude, strong work ethic, focused attention to detail, and ability to work well as a team member in all conditions
  • Be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written), have excellent guest service skills, be able to work in inclement weather in a high-alpine environment for extended periods, and have the ability to operate all ski patrol-related equipment
  • Have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow, and provide directions
  • Available to work holidays and weekends
  • Safely move objects up to approximately 70 pounds about the workplace.
