About The Position

Do you have a passion for ice skating? If you answered YES, then this is the opportunity for you! The Skating Instructor is responsible for instructing specialty skating in Learn to Skate classes. The position will keep accurate attendance records, develop lesson plans, as well as evaluate and assess skill level and progress of all participants. The job may require shifts ranging from morning to evening hours.

Requirements

Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year previous experience providing ice skate instruction.
Current membership in the PSA and the USFS and/or the ISI.
Current AED/CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain such certifications within sixty (60) days of employment.
Concussion recognition training is required prior to employment and must be renewed annually.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used to teach ice skating lessons.
Knowledge of USFS Moves in the Field, Freestyle, Ice Dance, and Pairs guidelines.
Ability to communicate, both written and oral, positively and effectively with patrons and class participates.
Will provide a safe class environment for all students.
Has the ability work with employees and the public and exercise responsible judgment as forth in the by-laws of the PSA.
