About The Position
Under the direct supervision of the evening supervisor, the Skate Rental/Ice Monitor ensures a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all guests during public skating sessions and birthday parties. Responsibilities include customer service, skate and equipment distribution, rink supervision, basic first aid, and general facility upkeep.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Confident skating ability; prior skating experience required
- Ability to manage high volumes of guests independently or with a team
- Basic cleaning and safety awareness
- Must lift up to 50 lbs and assist skaters as needed
- Physically demanding role with manual tasks and rink support duties
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Responsibilities
- Verify customer admission through handstamp checks
- Distribute and collect skates and skate aids; manage waitlists
- Provide basic assistance and information to guests
- Supervise birthday parties and support party room needs
- Monitor rink activity to enforce rules and ensure safety
- Report and respond to injuries; administer basic first aid
- Maintain cleanliness of all public areas during and after sessions
- Assist with off-ice duties and Zamboni area tasks as needed
