About The Position

The Skate Instructor/Coach position is responsible for instructing and coaching ice skating at the Plymouth Ice Center. This role involves ensuring that program instruction is taught in accordance with the ISI progression program and that the skating program is successful, resulting in engaged skaters and program growth. The instructor will provide lessons to a variety of skate lesson levels and ages, ensuring that class instruction is organized and utilizes proper skating techniques. Additionally, the instructor will monitor the well-being of all participants throughout skate lessons and ensure a safe and healthy environment for all skaters.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must have passed the skating level that you are assigned to instruct
• Must be able to demonstrate all skills in the level that you would be assigned to teach
• Must be able to work weekend hours
• Must be detail-oriented
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
• Must be able to communicate positively and effectively with participants
• Must understand or have ability to learn teaching techniques and proper skill progression.

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching experience is a plus.
