About The Position

Haddon Heights School District Haddon Heights, NJ Full-time Sixth Grade ELA/Social Studies Teacher Seventh Avenue School Anticipated Start Date: February 1, 2026 Salary Range $55,000 to $65,000 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employs knowledge of child development/or adolescent psychology to motivate students toward mastery of designated subject matter. Plans a program of study based on the state standards that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. Maintains a classroom environment that encourages learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives. Employs instructional methods and materials as provided by the district that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. Seeks the assistance of district specialists when students appear to have intellectual, social, and/or emotional needs. Confers with colleagues, students, and/or families as needed. Develops reasonable classroom expectations and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policy. Assists in curriculum development and in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Provides supervision/instruction for curricular and extracurricular activities that are school sponsored. Supervises behavior in the hallways, lunchroom, and on school grounds for the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required. Remains abreast of current developments, new trends, and contemporary interpretations of subject matter content in assigned area(s). Performs other duties which may be within the scope of their employment and certifications as may be assigned by the superintendent or designee.

Requirements

NJ Teacher Certification in K-6, OR K-8
