About The Position

The Sitter provides direct, continuous observation to patients under the direction of registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).

Requirements

• Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English.
• Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive/email, navigate information technology associated with the position, use Electronic Health Record information tools.
• Experience in healthcare related position preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of the registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN), which may include but is not limited to:
• Direct observation of the patient at all times
• Assisting patients to the bathroom
• Removing items from the room that might be used by the patient to harm themselves
• Assisting the patient with meals/feeding
• Communicates frequently with the patient care team to report concerns, provide update on patient status, or obtain direction for assisting the patient with care needs
• Conveys compassion, empathy, and understanding to the patient without offering personal judgment or opinions.
• Protects patients and team members by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
• Documents patient care services timely and accurately
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
• Apply DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
