About The Position

The Network Engineer position at Peraton supports the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 EOM, located onsite in Peterson SFB, Colorado. The role is crucial for providing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to USSOCOM and its components, ensuring the integrity and performance of network operations. The Network Engineer will perform Tier three network support, focusing on network design, implementation, and maintenance, while also providing guidance to junior technicians.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with an MS/MA; or 12+ years with a HS Diploma.
  • A DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software, including LAN/WAN interfacing and security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services.
  • Interface with O&M personnel to provide strategic design and support to projects as directed.
  • Review existing architectures regularly and recommend improvements as required.
  • Establish portal/web services with expertise in medium to large enterprise farms and geographical replication.
  • Perform disaster recovery and backup/restore operations.
  • Support cybersecurity technology efforts, including risk identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain LAN, WAN, and VoIP infrastructures, including advanced engineering and administration of network devices.
  • Establish SATCOM with an emphasis on IP satellite.
  • Provide support for wireless networking, application delivery networking, and cloud computing.
  • Manage network test facilities and ensure secure data transfer across networks.
  • Work with vendors and technical staff on network implementation and optimization.
  • Utilize Infoblox for DHCP and IP management and configure multicast networks.
  • Integrate and maintain network devices within Cisco DNA Center and enforce authentication protocols using Cisco ISE.
  • Perform equipment installation and removal, including modules and cards inside network devices.
  • Manage IP schemas to ensure connectivity without overriding existing IP space.
