About The Position

This position supports overall plant operations by filling in across various production roles, ensuring consistent workflow and efficiency. This position serves as a backup operator for all production positions and as a backup mechanic to support equipment maintenance and repair as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and repairs.
• Ability to operate multiple types of production machinery.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to adapt to different roles and schedules as needed.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer skills for logging production and maintenance data.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing plant environment (heat, noise, moving equipment).
• The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from the ground level.
• The employee must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and your whole body.

Responsibilities

• Act as a versatile team member able to step into any production position as required.
• Operate equipment and machinery across all production lines safely and efficiently.
• Serve as a backup machine operator during absences, vacations, or high-demand periods.
• Support mechanics by troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing equipment when needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks under the guidance of the maintenance team.
• Assist with equipment changeovers, setups, and line adjustments when needed.
• Monitor product quality and perform inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
• Follow all plant safety protocols and report potential hazards immediately.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, supporting 5S/lean manufacturing practices.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth transitions between roles.
• Provide training assistance for new employees on equipment and procedures.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
