About The Position

AECOM is currently hiring a Site Survey Assistant to join a field crew based out of our Hunt Valley, MD office. This position will support transportation-related projects, including roadway, highway, and similar infrastructure assignments. The role offers the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative team on a variety of projects while gaining hands-on field experience in support of large-scale transportation initiatives. Under direct supervision, conducts surveys to ascertain the locations of natural features and human-made structures on the earth's surface, underground, and underwater, using electronic distance-measuring equipment and other surveying instruments Operates and manages land-information computer systems, performs tasks such as storing data, making inquiries, and producing plots and reports Reviews information from survey teams regarding measurement of distances, directions, angles between points and elevation of points, lines, and contours on, above, and below the earth’s surface Research legal records, looks for evidence of previous boundaries, and analyzes the data to determine the location of boundary lines Records the results of surveys, verifies the accuracy of data, and prepares plots, maps, and reports An experienced professional with general understanding of area of specialization Normally receives instruction on routine work

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid U.S Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
  • Due to the nature of the projects a US Citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Basic mathematical calculations and follow simple technical instructions experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures under routine supervision
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple datasets, files, and reports without errors
