SIGNING BONUS (new employees only) THIS POSITION IS FOR THE MIDNIGHT SHIFT Amentum is the world's top supplier of automotive test facilities, providing a full range of services to commercial automotive industry customers . Customers include not only the world's major vehicle providers and other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), but also clients from the international motor sports community. Our experience encompasses virtually every type of automotive test facility, including climatic and driveability wind tunnels; aerodynamic, acoustic, and thermodynamic wind tunnels; emissions test rooms; soak rooms; altitude chambers; engine and powertrain test cells; and electromagnetic anechoic chambers. We not only design and build these facility systems assets but also operate, maintain, and manage these facilities. Technician will be working in a vehicle emissions testing facility in Allen Park. This facility applies numerous testing methods and data acquisition software to support and conduct a variety of Engine, Powertrain, and Durability Tests . Duties and responsibilities include: Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of Emission related components. Building electrical cables, repairing electrical connectors, and modifying electrical breakout boxes. Calibrating and maintaining emission testing instrumentation, such as, smoke meters and opacity meters. Supporting development and durability special testing and troubleshooting in an engine dynamometer facility. Interface with Technologists, Product Engineers, and Supervisors on updates/new test procedures, equipment and methods. Verify the calibration and maintenance of test equipment and test systems. Hook up instrumentation, diagnose / troubleshoot problems, conduct tests, change out components if necessary, and remove instrumentation as needed. Testing equipment includes Emission benches, fuel flow meters, smoke meters, pressure transducers, torque meters, accelerometers, and thermocouples. This is a midnight shift position: 11:30p-7am. It is also subject to being changed from time to time based on project demands. there is a shift differential paid for the midnight shift THIS JOB INCLUDES A $1K SIGNING BONUS (new employees only)

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years or related experience or vocational training.
  • Must pass PMHV Physical.
  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, and background check.
  • Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers.
  • Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to self or others.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner.
  • Dependable personal transportation to work site is required.
  • Must pass PMHV licensing.
  • Must have valid drivers' license.
  • Associate Degree or equivalent in automotive technology or electronic related field.
  • Experience in engines/powertrain dynamometer testing or other similar testing techniques..
  • Basic background in engine electronics troubleshooting
  • Horiba analyzer exp
  • Exhaust sample flow exp
  • Knowledge of Horiba gas analyzer calibration, and ability to read schematics/wiring diagrams and flow charts a must.
  • Understanding how DMM's, O-Scopes, and other electronic testing devices are used.
  • Understanding of instrumentation used in an automotive test environment, such as pressure transducers, thermocouples, accelerometers, etc. are highly preferred.
  • Good interpersonal, computer, oral and written skill.
