About The Position

The Minnetonka Public School District Community Education / Explorers Site Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising a comprehensive school-age child care program at the elementary school site. This role ensures the delivery of a high-quality, enriching, and safe program that supports children’s growth, development, and well-being. Your Role Will Include: Develop, implement, and oversee an engaging and enriching school-age child care program. Plan and lead daily activities while effectively managing program spaces. Supervise students and provide guidance that supports positive behavior and development. Train, supervise, and support Explorers staff and volunteers. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with school and district personnel, including custodial, clerical, and nutrition services staff. Lead staff and students during non-school day programming and field trips, ensuring safety at all times. Ensure compliance with all program regulations and complete required site documentation and paperwork accurately and timely. Support after-school enrichment and recreation classes. Maintain oversight of the student tracking system and ensure a safe, caring, and fun environment for all participants. Build strong, positive relationships with parents and maintain clear, consistent communication. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), Associate’s degree (AA), or two years of college coursework in a related field, plus at least 18 months of experience in school-age care.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Proven experience in program leadership.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Completion of CCAP-required training prior to the first day of employment.
  • Commitment to completing required annual staff development hours.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong record of punctuality and responsibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, families, coworkers, supervisors, and the general public.
