About The Position

We are seeking an Site Supervisor to lead and oversee operations at our manufacturing client site in Bayport, MN. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities, supervising a team of technicians, and ensuring all safety protocols and regulations are followed. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in industrial and hazardous waste services, and a proactive approach to resolving issues. The candidate selected will be trained by current On-Site Supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/ industrial service setting
  • Possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to be reliable and punctual.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Suite Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Possess fundamental knowledge of operating hand and power tools and understanding equipment mechanics.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification that includes PPE/respiratory protection
  • Previous experience and chemical safety knowledge of cleaning chemicals, detergents, flammable solvents, acids, and bases as well as other hazardous substances and wastes.
  • Ability to efficiently operate a variety of industrial service equipment to include fork trucks, man-lifts, pressure washers, pumps/hoses, and confined-space safety equipment.
  • Asbestos Inspector (sampling) and O&M Certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • US DOT Hazardous Materials Training or ability to obtain with 90 days of hire. Required to properly package waste for shipping/transportation, managing shipping documents and supervising others of any hazmat activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple industrial cleaning projects on a daily, monthly, bi-annual and annual basis.
  • Sort, process, and properly package a variety of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. This includes managing universal wastes, electronics, and specialty waste.
  • Conduct daily cleanup tasks involving solid and liquid hazardous and non-hazardous material in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Manage waste utilizing subcontractor vacuum-truck waste haulers. This includes scheduling, assisting drivers with pick-ups, signing paperwork, waste tracking and submitting associated documents to proper client personnel.
  • Arrange and conduct bi-weekly waste loadout activities with waste vendors.
  • Data entry of generated waste streams using excel for tracking waste to utilize data for client reporting on waste management, environmental and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct weekly hazardous waste inspections throughout facility work areas documenting and communicating findings. Assist with corrective actions, modifications, and potential solutions.
  • Assist in managing a variety of waste by actively collaborating with client departments for proper depositing of waste into the designated storage containers.
  • Inventory waste items that need special disposal options via lab packing and coordinate with vendor to schedule and arrange for pick-up.
  • Manage asbestos related sampling, minor clean-ups, and contractor oversight of removal projects.
  • Develop summaries, generate photographic logs, and input field work documentation.
  • Properly collect, prepare, document, and relinquish samples of hazardous and non-hazardous materials for testing in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Assist with site stormwater run-off by maintaining catch basin sediment filters, refueling sumps and various off-loading containment pads.
  • Perform on-site spill response cleanup activities and report necessary corrective action initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, both orally and in writing, in a courteous and professional manner of observed or perceived health, safety or other work conditions.
  • Develop/maintain health and safety documents as jobs and tasks evolve.
  • Participate in project kick-offs meetings.
  • Submit personnel project billing on a weekly basis to Bay West Project Manager
  • Submit weekly report to client Environmental personnel to communicate upcoming schedule for Bay West personnel, jobs, and spill activities.
  • Create summary reports for large projects involving multiple pieces of equipment to highlight key findings and recommend future actions.
  • Track monthly revenue to cross reference estimated bids versus actual for future accuracy.
