About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Site Supervisor for a position in Mobile, AL. This position is responsible for exercising independent judgment and supervising/directing a group of workers engaged chiefly in one occupation. On certain projects, a Supervisor may perform similar duties, supervising workers engaged in several occupations. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Superintendent or Site Manager. The Site Supervisor develops procedures for the performance of a variety of duties and performs complex duties within established guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Foreman in specified skill or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.
  • Sets a high standard to be followed for Turner and Client Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Projects clear expectations to all employees under supervision.
  • Proficient in the craft being supervised.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client.

Nice To Haves

  • NCCER craft certifications.
  • Leadership certifications such as NCCER Crew Leader or Turner Leadership Training.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets blueprints, sketches, written and/or verbal orders.
  • Estimates worker-hours and materials required to complete the job.
  • Assigns duties, lines up and follows up all work, and is responsible for production of the unit.
  • Inspects work to ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Trains and assists workers in the performance of their duties.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned construction workers.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedule.
  • Analyzes and resolves work-related problems.
  • Implements project safety programs.
  • May maintain time, production, and other records.
  • May study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job.
  • May make cost estimates for contracts.
  • Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
