Reimagine What’s Possible We have an immediate opening for a Site Supervisor / Plant Operator that is responsible for our Boise ID, Onsite Facility. You will have primary responsibility for three cryogenic Air Separation Units as well as a liquid hydrogen system. Air Products pioneered the “on-site” concept of producing and selling industrial gases in 1940. We supply a unique portfolio of atmospheric and process gases, equipment, and services. We own and operate a diverse portfolio of industrial gas plants, develop innovative technology, applications, and equipment solutions, and internally perform the engineering, procurement, and construction of our own plants. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of day-to-day plant operations, including customer and business interface, safety and environmental compliance, and maintenance budgeting. To be successful, you will need to gain a comprehensive understanding of the site’s operations and maintenance activities. Effective communication and strong organizational skills are essential. You will also learn the operation of the plant. You will drive the site towards operational excellence through clear communication, effective workload management, and respectful interaction with support teams. The ability to understand the broader picture and consider the implications of decisions is crucial. Requirements

  • Strong operating experience in similar plants or operations of similar complexity with a talent for effectively identifying and troubleshooting problems
  • A track record of success in EH&S and Quality
  • A self-starter with confirmed leadership abilities -- Self-led and highly motivated to plan and ensure the completed execution of all tasks required by our safety, environmental and engineering standards.
  • The ability to understand the broader picture and consider the implications of decisions
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Strong administrative/computer skills
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to meet call-in requirements as needed.
  • Some elevated work required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of relevant operations/maintenance experience in an industrial plant is preferred.
  • A degree in a technical field is a plus but not required.
  • Applicable experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Responsibilities

  • Management of the site’s Basic Safety Process and Process Safety Management with a focus on the company’s efforts to drive to a goal of 0 injuries.
  • Ensuring Environmental compliance in accordance with Air Products Corporate and Governmental Regulations.
  • Understanding safe operating, design, and permit limits.
  • Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day operations to include troubleshooting plant process problems, supervising daily plant activities, and managing plant projects.
  • Identifying maintenance concerns; then developing and implementing corrective measures with the maintenance team as well as carrying out site preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs.
  • Implementing and sharing best practices.
  • Investigating incidents and near misses which includes understanding and correcting the root cause of failures.
