About The Position

The Electrical Superintendent oversees and directs all on-site electrical operations for construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion. This role leads the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and serves as the primary on-site supervisor for all electrical field activities. The Electrical Superintendent supervises electricians and subcontractors, coordinates daily efforts with other trades, and maintains full compliance with safety and building codes.

Requirements

  • Current Texas Journeyman Electrician License (required)
  • 5–10 years of experience in electrical construction, with significant work on large-scale projects exceeding $5,000,000.
  • Experience supervising multiple crews of at least 15 people.
  • High school diploma or GED required; a degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and management of project schedules and budgets.
  • Track project progress to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Complete weekly unit tracking, 12-week look-ahead schedules, daily reports, and weekly checklists.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with local building codes, industry standards, and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Enforce company safety policies, including the “Zero Hot Work” policy.
  • Maintain a current OSHA 30 certification or obtain it within 30 days of hire at the company’s direction and expense.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to field teams.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical plans.
  • Review and verify electrical specifications for accuracy and constructability.
  • Supervise and coordinate electricians and subcontractors to ensure efficient work execution.
  • Coordinate schedules with other trades and resolve field conflicts promptly.
  • Manage performance, provide direction, and ensure accountability across all direct reports.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Create daily and weekly progress reports and maintain clear project histories.
  • Provide timely material and equipment requests to the operations team to allow for proper pricing and avoid unnecessary delivery costs.
