About The Position

We are seeking a professional, experienced construction Site Superintendent with extensive knowledge in high-end Remodel Carpentry. This full-time position is with a well-established, family-owned company that has been in business for 47 years and values quality and employee welfare. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma; additional training in construction management is highly desired.
  • At least 2 years of comparable construction superintendent experience or at least 3 years of progressive experience in carpentry with some supervisory responsibility overseeing the work of Trade Partners.
  • Clear understanding of all phases and elements of residential remodeling and construction procedures.
  • Motivated, self-starter, detail-oriented, highly organized, with analytical ability and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Residential remodeling experience including layout of foundations, framing, cabinets, interior finish packages, and effectively managing subcontractors.
  • Ability to interact and communicate well with clients, team members, vendors, and specialty trade contractors; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Rough carpentry experience including layout knowledge of foundations, rafters, and stairs.
  • Finish carpentry experience including trim, cabinetry installation, and interior finishes.
  • Good working knowledge of all related building trades.
  • Solid understanding of and ability to consistently follow construction documents (plans and specifications).
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Builder Trend, and the internet.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and state-required insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct yourself in a professional, positive, and courteous manner at all times.
  • Participate in all project-related meetings including the pre-construction meeting, weekly project progress meetings, and final project walk-through as requested.
  • Review and thoroughly understand all aspects of the project scope, details, job site conditions, and client responsibilities and expectations.
  • Identify any constructability conflicts and offer resolutions or revision options as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Selections Coordinator on any changes or updates made during client meetings.
  • Carefully track the baseline project schedule and schedule trades, deliveries, templates, and in-house carpenters.
  • Review and understand the scope and terms and conditions of all purchase orders issued for the project.
  • Manage field level communications and information sharing among all relevant parties, utilizing Builder Trend.
  • Execute all approved change orders.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and carpenters on assigned projects to ensure construction schedule and budget expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Oversee and assist in-house carpenters and laborers in performing their typical day-to-day construction tasks.
  • Monitor daily communications between the Project Manager and clients related to onsite activity, schedules, and other concerns; ensure prompt, accurate, and appropriate responses are given to the client.
  • Respect the client and their property, ensuring that team members and subcontractors do not use any client belongings including equipment, tools, phone, or cleaning supplies; ensure no smoking on the job-site property and no loud or offensive music or talk radio is played.
  • Provide feedback on the performance of field employees to the Project Manager on a regular and requested basis.
