JOB SUMMARY: The Site Safety Supervisor is responsible for managing, maintaining and implementing the company's health, safety and environmental program on multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain Safety Trained Supervisor in Construction (STSC), OSHA 30 Hour certification in construction, and CHST
  • Knowledge of construction operations.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in construction safety.
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment.
  • Customer service and employee relations skills.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge base of OSHA, DOSH and NFPA standards.
  • Experience with General Contractor managing self-perform work in a union environment.
  • Understanding of subcontractor management and safety requirements for specialty trades.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise general supervision of multiple job sites to monitor and manage projects during each phase of construction; including but not limited to pre-construction, construction, closeout, and post-construction.
  • Assist with the development of project risk registers, site specific safety, health and environmental plans, project new hire orientations, etc.
  • Participate in the project's site safety committee as applicable.
  • Assist the project team with initial safety start-up, including review and input to project specific safety issues, i.e., hazardous materials, signage, safety supplies, etc.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of weekly 'All-hands' safety meetings, as needed.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of pre-task planning meetings, as needed.
  • Periodically attend project weekly staff and subcontractor Foreman meetings.
  • Conduct safety-related training and orientations to BNBuilders field personnel, as prescribed.
  • Oversee the issuance of work permits for high-risk activities.
  • Assist with the investigations of all incidents of the assigned project
  • Assist with the development of leading indicators to determine trends.
