About The Position

We are seeking an experienced temporary (1 ½-2-year contract) Site Safety Manager with extensive construction HSE supervision experience, strong knowledge of U.S. and Washington State safety regulations, and a proactive approach to driving site safety compliance. The ideal candidate will effectively lead safety programs, collaborate with contractors, and ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of site experience in HSE construction supervision.
  • U.S.-recognized degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional certification/experience (e.g., OSHA 500/501).
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. and Washington State health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices within construction environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with multidisciplinary teams and contractors on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with the ROCKWOOL Safety Handbook and all applicable Washington State safety regulations.
  • Review, comment on, and validate contractors’ site installation plans, including site access and control measures.
  • Review, comment on, and validate contractors’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) documentation and plans.
  • Conduct onboarding and safety inductions for site staff and visitors.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver job-related safety training for client and contractor personnel.
  • Attend toolbox talks and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Perform regular site safety inspections and document observations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
  • Lead and participate in regular safety coordination meetings with contractors, including joint site walks.
  • Proactively support and drive the implementation of site safety initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Inspect contractor equipment to ensure compliance with safety and conformity requirements.
  • Report, investigate, and document lost-time incidents (LTIs), accidents, near misses, and other safety-related events; verify contractor logs and corrective actions for compliance with ROCKWOOL, Washington State, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and issue monthly HSE status reports and maintain detailed daily site logs.
  • Participate in weekly contractor and client coordination meetings.
  • Coordinate and lead all HSE activities following substantial handovers from the General Contractor.
