Turner Industries is looking for a Site Safety Manager to join our team at a site in the in the Deer Park, TX area. This position will be responsible for managing complex technical work by developing and implementing HSE procedures, programs, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements and to eliminate or minimize HSE risks to the Company, its employees, the environment and the community surrounding the facility. This position will also represent Turner in meetings with the client, governmental agencies & contractors to resolve immediate safety issues. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, able to work independently, is self-driven and works well within cross-functional team environments. The ideal candidate also takes pride in his/her analytical abilities, organization skills and attention to detail. He/she appreciates a setting where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded.

Requirements

  • Must have CHST certification or higher.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • 10+ years of proven experience as a field Safety rep with progressive growth.
  • TWIC Card
  • Proficient in OSHA and EPA regulations, State and Federal laws
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
  • Ability in producing reports and solid record keeping skills.
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
  • BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred.
  • Fit for Duty medical clearance will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Aligns Company safety programs with Owner safety programs in a refinery or chemical plant environment.
  • Educate employees on policies to advance a Culture of health and safety.
  • Develop/Support and Participate with all site safety meetings.
  • Monitor compliance programs by auditing employees and tasks to ensure safe job performance.
  • Ability to develop and present Root Cause Investigations (cause effect mapping) to Senior Leadership Management.
  • Engage with all company organizations and business support functions, including HR, Legal, HSE Corporate management all Company lines of business and their affiliates.
  • Must be a dynamic team member of the nested contractor safety committee and represent Company in a professional manner.
  • Ability to drive a culture of care through behavior-based safety programs that influences the attitudes and mindset of all contract workforce inside facility.
  • Manage all reporting practices to confirm compliance with all Company/State/Federal laws.
  • Assess and develop field safety personnel and provide guidance on self-improvement/growth
  • Work directly with Owner Senior Leadership Team members to support all functions and services in the facility.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Power BI to analyze and interpret data and provide feedback to field employees
  • Extensive knowledge utilizing Microsoft Office
  • Must be familiar working in a paperless environment. (Familiar with iPad)

  • Evaluate and develop key team members for succession planning.
