About The Position

We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to manage and improve the GitLab CI/CD platform in a mission-critical federal environment. This role focuses on reliability, automation, and secure platform engineering to ensure GitLab runs at scale with high availability and performance. You’ll own the GitLab platform, design resilient CI/CD pipelines, and help teams deliver software efficiently and securely.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Hands-on experience administering GitLab in an enterprise environment
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines
  • 3+ years with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Strong Linux administration skills
  • Proficiency in Bash/Shell and Python
  • Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience
  • Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years supporting enterprise platforms or DevOps environments
  • Experience migrating CI/CD platforms to the cloud
  • Familiarity with other CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible)
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Federal government experience

Responsibilities

  • Ensure reliability, performance, and security of the GitLab platform.
  • Design and maintain scalable, highly available GitLab architectures.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and health metrics.
  • Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines with security and compliance controls.
  • Automate build, test, deployment, and platform operations.
  • Standardize workflows to improve developer experience.
  • Manage infrastructure with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Operate containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS or similar).
  • Administer Linux systems supporting the platform.
  • Work with application teams to support GitLab adoption and best practices.
  • Provide guidance on GitLab features, integrations, and upgrades.
  • Support Jira and Confluence as part of the SDLC ecosystem.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security standards (e.g., NIST 800-53).
  • Integrate security scanning and compliance checks into pipelines.
