The SAMBT (Source, Artifact Management & Build Tools) team at Workday relentlessly pursues reliability and availability of build, development and deployment tools by employing a culture of learning, continuous improvement and an engineering focus. This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native).

  • Define, design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain automation infrastructure for configuration management and service deployment
  • Improve operational efficiency to help scale the team by automating where reasonable
  • Build platforms that empower application developers to interact with production in a self service manner
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with peers and partners to deliver results through collaboration
  • Respond to production monitoring: triage, fix, and resolution
  • Engage in a culture of learning and innovation through hackathons, online course offerings, and employee-led special interest guilds
  • Participate in an infrequent on-call rotation as part of the role
  • 3 years of experience as a software developer supporting Production Engineering, DevOps or equivalent roles
  • 3 years of experience in using configuration management frameworks like Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes in Public/Private Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in designing systems for ease of maintenance, repair, and upgrades
  • Proficiency in maintaining and administering source code management (SCM) tools
  • Proficient with Agile methodologies, SDLC, and CI/CD
  • Experience in Linux operating systems and various scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Golang
  • Expertise in applying Reliability Engineering principles
  • Deep understanding of Public Cloud Networking
  • JFrog Artifactory administration experience an advantage
