Requirements

  • Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship involving Linux and server hardware repairs.
  • Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship involving networking, programming/scripting, or hardware and OS repair.
  • Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship involving developing in Python, SQL, or shell scripting.
  • Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship involving HTTP, DNS, RAIN, and DHCP.

Responsibilities

  • Work to resolve and diagnose server issues at scale, escalate issues, and work with engineering teams.
  • Work within the rack lifecycle processes with a focus on helping build out and enable cloud scale compute and storage environments.
  • Work within Meta's ticketing system in support of the health of Meta's server fleet.
  • Serve as first point of contact for break fix technicians.
  • Assist with projects (new capacity as well as retrofits) and repairs throughout the data center.
  • Understand and perform initial analysis to debug hardware and Linux OS related issues.
  • Demonstrate personal leadership by identifying and helping to create documentation for the global data center knowledge base.
  • Assist with process improvements and best practices in data center operations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
