The Operations Manager for the Long Draw Solar power plant in Gail, TX, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of site operations, including employment, training, safety, and financial management. This role requires ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, managing vendors and subcontractors, and leading a small team of technicians. The manager will also monitor asset performance using SCADA systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to report on project status and compliance.

  • Oversee total employment, training, schedules, safety, and financial operations of the site.
  • Ensure all permits and reports are current and compliant with regulatory agencies.
  • Manage vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, and consultants.
  • Troubleshoot Balance of Plant (BOP) switching and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions.
  • Communicate with landowners and local communities regarding site operations.
  • Lead a team of two technicians and monitor daily asset performance using SCADA systems.
  • Ensure timely update and maintenance of all documentation related to site operations.
  • Provide technical and management support for the operations of the wind farm site as needed.
  • Manage a safety program to ensure safe operations for the public, employees, and equipment.
  • High school diploma or technical degree with relevant experience in leadership and management.
  • Five years of experience in a related industry with industrial electrical equipment and power generation.
  • Two years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Working knowledge of wind power generating equipment and technologies.
  • Physical capability to work in confined spaces and at various heights.
  • Ability to wear protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Substation technician certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience with thermal generation and utility scale equipment.
