About The Position

We are seeking a Site Operations Engineer to support 24/7 operations of a mission-critical system. This role begins with a comprehensive 20‑week training program designed to develop proficiency with a complex operational environment. After training, the engineer will complete an on-the-job (OJT) checklist to earn System Controller (SC) certification and transition into a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph (current and in-scope).
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience OR 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience working in a 24x7 operational environment.
  • Proficiency with Linux.
  • Experience using basic scripting languages (e.g., Perl, MATLAB).
  • Ability to complete all required training for system certification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi‑contractor, badge-less environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to make decisions under pressure to sustain core system operations.
  • Experience with hardware or software systems supporting real-time system control.
  • Familiarity with RF, Digital, Power, Thermal, Control, or Communication systems.
  • Comfortable working in Linux or comparable operating environments at the command line.
  • Understanding of networking protocols and technologies such as NIS/NIS+, LDAP, and NFS.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and ability to complete tasks proactively.

Responsibilities

  • Support 24/7 operations of a mission-critical system through 12‑hour rotating shifts.
  • Develop documentation, operational products, and CONOPS for continuous system operations.
  • Troubleshoot real-time operational issues affecting system performance.
  • Analyze trends in operational data and simulate products/CONOPS before deployment.
  • Restore systems to full operational status while ensuring system health, safety, and maximum availability.
  • Review or create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for routine and anomaly events.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate the operation of complex systems.
  • Create suites of operational products for newly delivered or updated systems.
