About The Position

The Novelis North America Bay Minette Technical team is seeking a Site MES Leader to maintain and improve manufacturing systems at the new Bay Minette facility. This role is crucial for optimizing existing assets and using emerging technologies to enhance fabrication processes, safety, productivity, quality, and inventory management.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering in a related technical field.
• 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing execution systems.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate with all organizational levels.
• Experience in integrating MES systems with ERP and automation systems.
• Understanding of communication methods standardization (preferred Microsoft SQL).

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience in Siemens OpCenter.
• Experience in the Metals Rolling/Fabrication industry.

Responsibilities

• Be a role model for safety; demonstrating behaviors that align with the Novelis Safety Absolutes and Safety Principles to build a zero-injury culture.
• Partner with site, regional, and global teams to collect project requirements and feedback, translating them into project actions.
• Identify and address customer and operational problems, leading project teams to solve them and ensuring alignment across geographies.
• Lead regular review meetings with partners and ensure project team meets assigned commitments.
• Manage interpersonal dynamics in project groups to achieve constructive outcomes.
• Influence site decision-making by presenting technical information to senior management and serving as a technical expert on MES.
• Possess high-level knowledge of site utilities and manufacturing processes, assessing the viability of technologies and making recommendations.
• Present technical information effectively to peers or senior business leaders and contribute to solving complex technical problems.
• Show active involvement in site, regional, or global projects, including training and support of other departments.
• Support the introduction of Industry 4.0 within the manufacturing environment and act as a liaison between Shop Floor and Global Information Technology groups.
