How you’ll make an impact: The Manager of eCommerce Site Merchandising – Emerging Brands will lead the end-to-end digital experience for our newest brands (Little Planet, Otter Avenue, and Skip Hop). This leader will be responsible for building and executing a comprehensive, brand-right strategy that spans across the entire digital journey and optimizes results across both qualitative and quantitative objectives. This role reports to the Sr. Director of eCommerce Site Merchandising and has 5 direct reports. The role is based in Carter’s Atlanta, GA office.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in site merchandising, ecommerce, or digital retail.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms, merchandising tools, and analytics (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, SFCC, Shopify, Bright Edge, etc.)
  • Ecommerce & Financial Leadership: Proven ability to optimize digital experiences to drive both transactional and relational objectives and strong understanding of the digital P&L.
  • Innovative, Brand-Forward Thinking: Thrives in ambiguity, transforming emerging opportunities into clear strategies with measurable outcomes.
  • Proven Leadership Skills: Influences teams and stakeholders to deliver intended results, including leaders, peers, and direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Brand Expression (Little Planet, Otter Avenue, Skip Hop) Own business analysis of all digital metrics including traffic, conversion rate, average order value, AUR, UPT, gross margin, site engagement rate, digital OSAT scores, returns, and search effectiveness to inform go-forward decisions; drive continuous optimization via A/B testing and data insights.
  • Own the end-to-end site merchandising vision and strategy, translating brand positioning and seasonal priorities into compelling digital experiences that drive both brand affinity and financial performance.
  • Lead how product stories come to life throughout the entire purchase funnel, including homepage, app, product landing pages, product detail pages, categories and collections, navigation, filters, bundles, and sort logic.
  • Balance relational objectives (brand love, storytelling, consumer trust) with transactional goals (revenue, site engagement, AOV, UPT, AUR, and conversion rate).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as the primary Site Merchandising partner to Merchandising, Planning, Creative, Marketing, UX, Analytics, and Digital Product teams — especially for launch timing and storytelling alignment.
  • Translate business and financial goals into clear site merchandising priorities and execution plans.
  • Align cross-functional teams around launch timing, promotional strategy, and site readiness to maximize revenue impact.
  • Communicate performance, insights, and tradeoffs clearly to senior stakeholders with a strong command of retail and eCommerce KPIs.
  • Influence roadmap prioritization for site enhancements, testing, and personalization tied to conversion, AOV, and engagement metrics.
  • Consumer & Competitive Insight Leverage consumer behavior and site analytics to optimize product discovery, conversion, basket building, and brand affinity.
  • Track emerging competitive and industry trends in digital merchandising, pricing presentation, and promotional tactics to influence and determine our brands’ business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve both emotional connection and transactional efficiency across the customer journey.
  • Provide business insights to cross-functional partners to guide decision making, including content engagement, search / SEO data, and product ratings & reviews.
  • Operations & People Leadership Own site calendars, launch readiness, and promotional execution to ensure financial goals are met or exceeded.
  • Lead day-to-day site merchandising operations with a focus on accuracy, speed, and revenue impact.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team with clear accountability to both experience quality and business results.
  • Establish best practices, processes, and governance that enable scale while protecting brand standards.
  • Foster is a results-oriented, collaborative team culture that balances creative excellence with financial discipline.
