Job Overview

The Associate, Site Merchandising supports the execution and optimization of
digital merchandising strategies that drive traffic, conversion, and sales on
macys.com. This position partners cross-functionally to ensure consistent,
high-quality site experiences across all customer touchpoints. The role plays a
key part in translating merchandising strategies into effective on-site
execution that enhances the customer journey.

Requirements

• Digital Merchandising: Applies online merchandising strategies to improve conversion, traffic, and customer experience.
• Data Analysis: Uses insights from analytics, experimentation, and relevancy tools to inform site optimization decisions.
• Taxonomy & Search Optimization: Manages navigation structures and search performance to improve product discoverability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works effectively with merchants, marketing, creative, and technical partners to deliver results.
• Strategic Thinking: Evaluates competitive landscapes and business priorities to recommend site merchandising improvements.
• Communication: Clearly communicates technical concepts, insights, and recommendations to partners at all levels.
• Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
• 3–5 years of direct experience in site merchandising, digital merchandising, or a related e-commerce function.
• Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.

Responsibilities

• Execute site merchandising strategies that align data and content across all customer touchpoints and devices.
• Optimize product detail pages, including imagery, attribution, tagging, reviews, and customer-generated content.
• Manage taxonomy elements such as header navigation and left-hand navigation in partnership with SEO and UX teams.
• Improve on-site search performance by analyzing failed search terms and responding to trending phrases and key brands.
• Support promotional and event execution, including sequencing, boosting, promo codes, and gift-with-purchase initiatives.
• Drive affiliate and SEM performance through regular submission of top-performing offers.
• Partner with merchant, marketing, creative, production, and site operations teams to ensure flawless execution of site initiatives.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
